#AEHoops Opening Weekend Roundup

It was a strong showing from the conference as those facing mid-majors picked to win their leagues won, while those facing high major competition more than held their own. Just about every team lived up to their reputation coming into the season, both the good and the bad.

The game of the weekend turned out to be Sunday afternoon's Vermont at Kentucky matchup as the Catamounts were oh so close to stealing a win at Rupp Arena. Albany came away with a good win over Iona on Friday, while UMBC showed they can score with anyone in their two road contests at SMU and at Arizona. Binghamton came away with a nice home win over Morgan State, Stony Brook played Maryland tough, New Hampshire did what they were supposed to do against Wheelock, UMass Lowell played UMass well before needing a strong second half to take over their game against UMass Boston, Hartford took down CCSU in OT before handling business against Gordon, and last but not least (maybe) Maine fought hard at Boston College.

The UVM Hoop Cat Memorial Worst America East Basketball Take of the Week Award

I'll give myself the award since I was so off on what Kentucky would look like early this season. UVM Hoop Cat can win it every other week as he currently has the 2-100 ranked posts of the preseason/opening weekend.
