The Bearcats return 85.4% of their scoring from 2016-17 conference play, including top three scorers Willie Rodriguez (11.6 ppg), Timmy Rose (9.6 ppg) and Bobby Ahearn (8.9 ppg). Binghamton also returns 81.7% of their rebounding from 2016-17 conference play, including their top three rebounders.

Expect the Bearcats to rely on senior Willie Rodriguez, with major contributions from Bobby Ahearn, Timmy Rose, J.C. Show and Thomas Bruce. Prior to an injury ending his 2016-17 campaign, Bucknell transfer J.C. Show showed flashes for Binghamton during 12 non-conference games averaging 13.3 ppg in 28.8 minutes, including four contests in which he scored 23, 34, 21 and 22 respectively.

There's a lot that needs to be fixed on both ends of the ball for Binghamton, but the quick fix (easier said than done) is to put forth more effort on the defensive end and on the glass. America East opponents pulled down 27.5% of their offensive rebound opportunities vs the Bearcats, which placed them 7th in the 9 team league.

What Returns

#0 Fard Muhammad (S0) 6'4'' 210 pound guard. Averaged 5.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 14.5 minutes as a freshman during conference play last season. Will look to improve upon his 31% shooting from deep in conference play as he came in with a reputation as a deep threat from Montverde Academy. Guy to watch as a breakout candidate.

#4 Timmy Rose (Jr) 6'1'' 175 pound guard. Averaged 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and a team leading 3.6 assists per game during 2016-17 league play. Shot a league best 51.3% from three point range on 2.4 attempts per game during conference action. May or may not have been the Scranton Strangler.

#14 Jordan McRae (R-Jr) 6'6'' 200 pound forward. Appeared in 8 contests during 2016-17 league play. Doesn't believe in complicated pregame handshakes.

Averaged 3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 20.9 minutes during the 2015-16 conference slate. Attended Lower Merion for high school, the same as Kobe Bryant. Will not participate in basketball his senior season, Here's his story.  Definitely give this a watch, best of luck in all of your future endeavors Justin.

#30 John Schurman (R-Jr) 6'6'' 210 pound guard/forward. Shot 9-16 (56.3%) from deep in 9 conference games. Averaged 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 6.8 minutes per game. Thinks Jim Boeheim should retire already.

#32 Thomas Bruce (Jr) 6'9'' 225 pound forward. Led Binghamton with 5.2 rebounds per game in conference play while adding 7 points per game in 27 minutes of action. IMO is the X factor for Binghamton, needs to turn into a bully on the boards.

Fun Fact

4 out of 5 Binghamton starters return (in conference play), averaging 14.25 conference games started out of a possible 16. Assume J.C. Show (if healthy) takes over for the departed Marlon Beck making this a very experienced starting five for Binghamton.
