Albany vs Niagara Quickie

Consistent Cremuh

Freshman Joe Cremo stepped up with an extremely efficient game; shooting 9-12, including 3-3 from deep... scoring 25 points in 27 minutes. It's obvious the young man is a special player. I'm starting to get the feeling that if this team wasn't so deep and Senior laden, the team would be his to run. For now he'll have to wait his turn, taking advantage of the opportunities that come his way.

Depth

It could be the title of an ESPN 30 for 30. "What if I told you the Great Danes won a game in which their two best players went 2-15 from the field?". Do any Albany fans ever want to see this stat line again? No...but they should be very happy knowing this team has the ability to win games when the stars aren't shining.

While Evan Singletary finished the night 0-5 from the field, he was able to record 10 assists in the contest. The assist line is all you need to focus on here, Evan only attempted 5 shots, well below his season average (he's averaging 10.3 per game so far this season).

The aforementioned Joe Cremo carried the scoring load, but the Great Danes also received major contributions from Richard Peters and Dallas Ennema; both of whom finished with 9 points. The Albany bench finished the game 16-21 from the field with 43 total points.

Greig Stire led Albany with 10 rebounds (including 4 offensive) in 20 minutes of play; doubling the Great Dane's second leading rebounder (Ray Sanders with 5).

Kind Line

The Great Danes finished the game 15-19 (78.9%) from the line, while Niagara only attempted 9 (making 7). Peter Hooley had a rough shooting night (2-10 FG, 0-5 3FG) but finished 4-4 from the line. Both Cremo and Sanders also had nice games from the charity stripe (combined 7-9).

Don't Ask Me...

What's wrong with Peter offensively...I don't know, and even if I did I wouldn't tell you. Forget the numbers, they're ugly. The fifth year Senior will be ready for conference play.
